The final 3 days of the mission moved quickly. Pam lead CPR training for a number of athletic associations. The training was well received.

The patients recovered quickly. Fortunately all our patients were mobile and discharged safely by Friday afternoon .

The 2 screening programs continued. More than 800 children have been assessed at the Humanitarian Clinic by the paediatric team. 40 children have been treated for hip dysplasia using harnesses and bracing techniques. The screening for cervical dysplasia in women has also progressed nicely with a plan to expand the program to a second hospital in Cuenca.

Our partnership with the entire team of paediatricians, gynaecologists, family physicians, epidemiologists and administrators at the Humanitarian Hospital demonstrates the power of collaboration. Dr. Cameron and Dr. Abouassaly gave presentations to the physician groups Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Rotary club as usual was extremely generous with their support and hospitality. Many of the Rotarians have been very good personal friends.

As the mission wound down, we began to plan for next year. The team left Ecuador tired and fulfilled by the work of helping the Ecuadorians.
