Our mandate is to conduct medical missions to impoverished people who normally would not have access to medical care in developing countries around the world, most currently in Ecuador, South America. 2023 Mission!

52 True North Missions volunteers are preparing for another successful mission to Ecuador set to depart October 30, returning November 10, 2023.

As we look forward to this mission we are hopeful for a large number of patients to serve...similar in number to the 40+ families helped during our last mission in 2022.

A little bit about where we started...

Our Society was established in 2009, however, we have traveled on several missions to Cuenca, Ecuador under the umbrella of an established charity organization in Edmonton, Alberta. frontpage_image_one[1] We are also a registered charity in good standing with Canada Revenue. In January of 2007, Dr. Jim Powell and Mrs. Gail Evans,ORT, traveled to Ecuador for the first time as part of a mission led by Dr. Tom Greidanus. Dr. Greidanus had been leading a mission to Cuenca, Ecuador for roughly 10 years at that point in time. The team had several components to the mission including providing total joint replacement of the hip and knee joint and dental care to some of the poor in Cuenca.
