Dear Friends,
Day 2 started slow and finished busy! After a good rest in Quito, we flew to Cuenca. The team unloaded at least 120 totes and hockey bags, both shipped from Calgary and stored here.
I don’t think the planning and execution to set up the hospital would really be different from a true MASH unit. We purchase some medications and IV fluids here, not really much else. We know that if we don’t bring it, we won’t have it! The energy of the team this year is as high as it has ever been. We prepped to see patients in the clinic tomorrow, really one of the critical parts of every mission. Proper patient selection is the first of many important steps.
Kudos to our team today for sorting our inventory and starting the big task of sterilizing instruments. More on that soon.
Stay tuned,
TNMS
