Dear Friends,

Day one went smoothly. We are missing 2 of our bags/totes of our roughly 80.

Ecuador is as beautiful as ever. Manual, the man of God who makes this all possible, met us at the airport. The country is surprisingly rain free, not a good thing. Their electrical is hydro so they are dealing with rolling blackouts. Apparently this long stretch has not happened since Manuel was 9. Fortunately there is rain forecasted in Cuenca for the next week.

The hospital and hotel in Cuenca have generators. The light here came on in the middle of the night last night, lol.
