Today’s access to the OR was good enough to allow for 9 surgeries. Local emergency cases did delay the team’s timing to get into the OR and so…it was another late night. One of the PAO’s was an 11 year old girl.
Sadly, one of today’s surgery candidates had to cancel because her employer told her if she went for surgery she was fired. She was needed for work on the long weekend.
Another long day but as usual many of the team who had completed their daily tasks stayed at the hospital to help the processors clean equipment, wrap, and sterilize in preparation for tomorrow’s surgeries.
The Rotarians have set up a snack and coffee table outside of the 5th floor TNMS home base. Rotary members are there every day providing plentiful fresh snacks. Today a patient from a prior mission brought to this snack table a section of home made preserves, sweet buns, cheese buns, and home made biscotti. Beside the treats she left a wonderful thank you note. It was a taste bud WOW!!
