Dear True North followers:

Thanks for joining in! We are back on the road. A tremendous amount of work by our team over the past 10 months has set us up perfectly. Despite a slight delay in travel out of Calgary, everyone has reached Cuenca, and the bags have arrived too.

The set up started today. Tomorrow is clinic day and arguably perhaps one of our most challenging and gratifying days. At least 80 potential patients with perhaps 40 operative slots to be offered are anticipated. There were 40 holdover patients from last year, so the demand is high.

Dr Avila continues his life dedicated to serving the poor and inspires all of us. We plan to review the project with our Rotary colleagues that has been screening babies up to 6 months of age.
